Well the writing was on the wall with that loss last night. After scoring early the Leafs looked like they were skating in mud the rest of the night.
Now this was a game I expected them to lose, so I’m okay with it. What I’m not okay with is the play of lil Willie Nylander. I’m okay when guys go through slumps (see Auston Matthews) but when your just out for a god damn Friday night public skate, I get mad. I’ve said this before and will say it again signing him was a mistake. He’s literally 3.5 months behind everyone on the team. There is hope he gets into game shape by playoffs, but it’s too tight in the standings right now to have him hurting us.
With us losing and Montreal winning last night we now stand only 1 point up on them, but they play tonight and leafs are idle. Time is now to start a nice little winning streak and we get that start Sunday in Toronto vs The Coyotes of Arizona.
